Roof Rack

I've got a '90 Camry wagon with the optional roof rack. The rack is looking faded and dingy (20 years will do that). My question is: what's the best stuff to clean it up with? It seems to be metal with a plasticized paint over it.

Just wanting to make it look better until I get around to pulling it off, sanding, and repainting it.

If it is textured plastic you can't get any better than BlackWow. It might need a few applications so the plastic can soak it in but in the end it'll be black black. If you're interested, I can sell you some since I only used .3oz in the past 2 years keeping my stuff black. A little goes a super long way with it

No, it is definitely metal. The paint feels like it has a plastic or rubber content to it.

Hmm, you could take a cleaner to it. I usually use Optimum Power Clean or Meguiars APC+ to clean the gunk off

I've cleaned it. I'm just trying to figure out how to make it look less dull and oxidized. But, I'm not sure what wax/cleaner would be safe for it.

Is the BlackWow kinda like Meguiar's "Back to Black" product?

Well, you said it was paint so I'd imagine a normal wax would be fine to use on it. BlackWow lasts up to a year. Back to Black is crap that lasts only a few weeks lol
