Try rubbing some Oxy Clean on it. Put some in a bowl or other container, put a bit of water in it to make it into some sort of paste and apply it on the stain. Rub it in there good with a cleaning brush or something similar.

Don't give up until you've tried Folex. I just recently used it to remove two cat puke stains that had set into my sister's carpet, worked like a charm.

You can find Folex at Walmart, Home Depot, or True Value Hardware.

Wow, that must be some stain! Only thing that Folex didn't get out for me was blood that had set in. Interesting to know what it can't get out.

I know I'm a couple of months late on this post but I normally dont troll around.

NOTHING on the store shelves will remove RED stains from carpet. The red food dye actually dyes the carpet, BUT it can be removed. If you were in my neighborhood, I could handle it quick and easy. Call a carpet cleaning pro and ask about getting red stains out. If he mentions he has a product called "red relief" he can do it. Removing red stains requires heat. If the guy you get doesnt break out an iron with his magic chemicals, send him on his way. He doesnt know what to do.

And to add to stain removal advice- DO NOT USE ANY OXYGENATED PRODUCTS!!!!
Yes, you may get the stain out, but it has a side effect they dont tell you about- Its not UV stable! After the sun hits it it changes color.
