Armor All on tires?

I'm skeptical about using this.

I'm pretty sure this is the one I have, Armor All Protectant.
I've read on another forum that this stuff dries out the tire and other negative effects.

Also I've read when you apply it, and drive around with it, the liquid coat flings off and can land on the car's paint. I really don't understand this, wouldn't the liquid coating dry?

If anyone knows if I should try it or avoid it, thanks.

I don't like using it on my tires. It's oily and ATTRACTS dirt. And yes, it does get flung off the wheel and gets on the paint.

I would use it for show...but not just driving around. It fades off within a day for me....

So it's pointless. Though I DO use it on the fender liners, it cleans that up real nice. Also the mudflaps and springs and struts. Makes everything shine real nice. But don't bother on the wheels.

I'll avoid tires, and I am also avoiding the dashboard since I've heard it either creates discoloring or foggy smudges.

I'll try mudflaps, maybe fender lining...but isn't that just the part above the tire? There is no point...?

I wonder if this works on hubcaps too or if it's bad, would it make them more shiny D:?

It'll work on hubcaps. The fenderliners and mud flaps won't really be noticed, but I do it just because I tend to have to pull my tires apart at least every other day hahaha

You know the plastic black piece around the radio, do you think that armor all would make it look shinier? My Camry had some cheap wood trim I got rid of, and I want this black plastic piece to stand out without ruining it or discoloring it. It says it works on plastics but I'm just unsure of...

It should be fine. Put the armor all on a rag or towel first, then wipe on. Don't spray or pour it directly on the surface.

Armor All is an interesting product (and been around a very long time). It's actually quite horrible to use on an interior, because when it gets hot, the stuff evaps and creates a nice film all over the glass. It's also very difficult to remove from plastic, which is I guess the mark of a good product, unless you are trying to remove it.

For exterior plastic it's fine IMO, but I stopped using for interiors long ago. On tires I would also not use it, you don't know what the stuff is going to do to the rubber long term. I've heard people swear that Armor All caused their dashboards to crack as well, although that has never happened to me.

I use it on tires, it makes them look real nice almost like new.

I do NOT drive around while it is still wet so I have yet to see any get on my paint.

I also do NOT use it everyday. I use it maybe twice a month if that. I normally use it when I feel like making my car look pretty. about every time I wax the car and I have yet to see any problem with the tires as well.

Alright, I'm trying a little experiment.

One tire, soap + water.

Another tire, soap + water, dried it, then armor all'd it.

Other two tires = nothing.

Let's see if Armor All has a noticeable different. (is it supposed to be a white color? This stuff has been sitting on the shelf for a looooooooong time)

It's the tire/interior protector equivalent of calling WD40 as the best lube.

Use 303 Aerospace Protectant instead.

Yup, the brand as a whole doesn't really make good products - except for their wheel protectant, which isn't half bad. I like the analogy I use to use Armor All but I found it left too much of a thick greasy film on the interior...

If you want something good for the interior, I use

Black Magic Protectant

Black Magic Protectant

and I like it. For the tire shine, I would go for a Gel, sprays and foams get messy in the sense that they will overspray onto the rims (at least in my experience).

wouldnt use REGULAR armour all for tires..they have ones just for tires..dont like sprays get all over wheels after you clean them..i use a gel......with the sponge that comes with it.....stays on until i wash my car....gels are way better than sprays...
