Question $75 a good price for detailing shop to polish and wax '04 BLACK Highlander

I have had a few single stage black vehicles a 1995 SAAB 9000 Aero that was VERY hard to keep swirl marks out of. Is $75 a good price for e detailing shop to poish and wax my 2004 7 pass BLACK Highlander?

Define the shops "polishing" step. If they do a proper job and remove it instead of filling it in AND don't leave holograms on the finish, then yes, that is an excellent price

I would be a little skeptical of a $75 detail that would remove micro-marring like spiderwebbing (often called swirl marks) because it can be a lot of work and time to do it right.

What I am more curious about is your washing and drying routine, which likely needs to be improved upon, or you'll be right back where you started.

Sharing what you are doing for washing and drying might allow us to offer some tips for improvement.

Correct for balack vehicle

Wash in shade only rinse first top to bottom. Then proper car was only applied with lambs wool mit. Again top to bottom each panel at a time rinsing in between. Meguires finish ok brush from rocckers and another soft brush for alloys. Rinsed and dryed with dedicated towel.

You might try introducing a second bucket to rinse the mitt before dipping again into the suds (both buckets can have suds).

You might try making sure you have a good amount of suds to provide lubricity during washing, so that you don't introduce micromarring during the washing process. In other words, add more car wash concentrate.

Also add a second mitt into the mix for the lower body panels and the wheels. It can be a different type so you know which is for which, and I usually use a microfiber for this purpose.

Add a product like our FX Spray Wax to the drying step, which should include only high-grade microfiber or 100% cotton terry towels. Spray wax will aid in drying, provide lubrication for the towel, and help provide gloss and protection.
