That "protection" will eventually leave a sticky glue mess on your carpet. It's meant to be removed and thrown away. What the heck are you saving the carpet for? A good set of mats works fine.

the film is designed to be used for short time, not a good long term solution to protect your carpet. I agree to just get a nice set of weather mat.

for my last two cars, I bought direct from weathertech. they used to sell the mat on eBay under WEATHERTECH but now I see some sellers selling "weathertech". There are many eBay sellers selling knockoff.

I suggest you buy direct from weathertech.

carpet protection film

ya, you do not want to use it long term, but we do find it useful during the winter. we'll coat our entire suv floor wiht the stuff during ski trips and it really helps out. just use it temporarily or change it out periodically.

you can get it here: http://www.plasticover.com/

goog luck! -J

Hey guys - just letting you know that I've moved this thread to the 'Detailing & Car Care" forum since that's a better fit for it. Here you'll not only get the benefit of others on their detailing and care tips - they can learn from this thread as well.
