Best wax and cleaning products for Black paint

Or is there any difference. I have seen and purchased products for friends that are specific to black paint but ive never seen it in use. is there anything i should be using over anything else?

I've heard a lot of people talk about Zaino as being good for black paint. I've never used Zaino myself, but throwing it out there to you for something to look into since I've heard a lot about it over the years.

Paint is paint, and black shows a lot of defects, so it really depends on the condition of the paint and how you are going to apply the products.

We recommend our Ultimate Wax System for applying by hand on paint that needs some TLC -- that's our Pre-Wax Cleaner, Sealer & Glaze and Pure Carnauba Wax (I like the paste).

For paint in good condition, try our FX SynWax paste.

Of course prep is key, and claying beforehand with our California Gold Clay Bar is recommended.

This is true. Black shows more imperfections than other colors. Being that your car is a few years old, I would definitely hit it with a Clay Bar (the Mothers one is good) and a good polish job (depending on the severity of the paint would dictate which polish). Then sealant/glaze and wax.

Two years ago a friend of mine bought a used 04 (pretty sure) Chevy Colorado. The paint wasn't bad, but it had spiderwebs and some light scratches. After some polish with a DA polisher:

^ Awesome pic Dana!

I'll vouch for the Mother's clay bar and paste wax combo. It did wonders on my dark blue.

Also, as far as colored waxes go, I've used Turtle's red as well as their black. Good stuff but it only hides defects. If you wanna get rid of swirls and/or haze use an orbital buffer and multi step polish, or pay some one to do so.

^^^Dual action, like this one:

You really have to try to burn your paint with one of these, the polisher is random so it keeps the heat down, unlike an orbital where the pattern is constant.

These make polishing/waxing easier and the results are outstanding....nice even shine.

I've used Turtle Wax Black Box with some success on my 11 year old (original paint) Integra GSR.

Black paint looks awesome, especially after a nice detailing, but it is a pain to maintain.

Sold the GSR and bought a white 07 Camry SE. Im not saying white is the easiest, I honestly dont know but it is a change for me.

btw with the black box i never used the spray, it seemed too much work and didnt do much of a difference.

First I used the filler (covers all the paint chips and scratches in the paint) then the wax (to make it shine) and it was awesome.
