Buffing light oxidation out?

I'm looking for suggestions on buffing paint? The dash on my truck has a thick layer of dust and a thin layer of surface oxidation ...60 years worth... and I'd like to try to buff it out rather than blast and repaint.

You can see where the radio's face plate (top holes) left a clean unoxidized rectangle around the dash cutouts. The paint is a silver/taupe "champagne" color.

I'll take some better pics tonight.

I ended up using some bluemagic polish I had laying around and some extra super fine steel wool. I think the polish is for chrome but it worked beautifully!
Ill post after pics asap.
