Wheel care

Hey guys, I have an 04 Corolla S and I want to bring out some more shine on my wheels. I tried using Mothers Mag and Alluminum wheel shine, but I didn't see the difference. Any tips? Thanks guys

Painted Alloys are easy to maintain; I simply wash and wax the wheel. Chrome are known to pit if not washed and waxed regularly; especially in the winter or coast where there's salt. I read somewhere that machined wheels needed a special wax or coating to protect the clear coat that are weaker than normal alloy paint. Any wheel clear willdo fine as along as it removes brake dust, road tar, dirt, and stuff that can damage the finish of most wheels. There also a special little brush that helps clean around those lug nut holes too.

You can only get so much shine from a clearcoated wheel.

That said, Mag & Aluminum Polish is a great polish, but not for a clearcoat.

Generally, you should make sure the wheel's clean, using a spray-on hose-off wheel cleaner if necessary, one like Mothers Wheel & Tire Cleaner. After that, polish and protect the clearcoat with a plastic polish or cleaner wax.

Let's see some pics so that we can offer more specific advice.
