Detailed Car then rained

Got my car detailed yesterday. Polish and Wax by a professional. 4 Hours later in rained hard, sun came out again and then it rained again.

Did I waste my money? Did the wax wash away?

No, you still have protection. Just grab your favorite car detailing spray, some microfiber towels and go to town on it, the shine will come back.

If he did use wax, yes you still have wax. If it was a sealent(synthetic "wax") then no, the rain washed it away.

Either way you still have protection. I use sealants, they last MUCH longer (6 months) compared to natural wax lasting 6-8 weeks. If he applied the sealant according to the manufactures direction (some say let haze for 45 min) then it is still on.

^ Many sealants take roughly 8 hours to cure (minimum). So since he said it rained about 4 hours after applying, chances are the sealant would not be as durable had it cured for a little longer.
