Mothers Clay Bar System

Considering buying this; but am discouraged by the thought of clay barring my car with the clay bar that soon becomes polluted and tainted by the very contaminants that it is designed to eliminate; such as semi-metalic brake pad dust and metalic particles form railroad tracks . Despite the showtime lubricant to aid in the process I feel that It's similar to washing my car with a gritty sponge. What do you guys think?

When it becomes too contaminated, fold it over and knead it again.

I clay bar my car about once every 5-6 months. As they said just make sure to kneed the clay frequently. I do my after every other 2x2ft section I do. If it gets extremely dirty that just means your car needed it badly (provided its been cleaned and dried thoroughly) If its the first time you have ever done it to your car it will take a little while longer because of the contaminants its picking up. Good luck! And its a good habit to get into, unfortunately few people even know what it is.

I finally tried the Mothers clay bar on a '97 silver Lexus LS400 I "inherited". I can't believe how easy it was and how well it worked! Didn't even take long at all. I'm sold on this. Not afraid to use it on my black 2011 Camry now!
