Question Stain on leather cleaning advice

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2010 Toyota Highlander hybrid. (used, new to me)
So far it has been awesome. Great on gas, good looking and still powerful when you need it to be.

The reason I bought it was for the new addition to the family. Baby boy born about two months ago.

Meaning I had a car seat installed. We got a "seat protector" as a gift, the ones that go underneath the car seat. the non slip easy to clean ones with the rubber bottom.

Well, I took the car seat off the other day and found black marks/ stain transfer from the car seat mat. See pics.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I turn to you highlander experts. What do I use to clean the leather to get the stains out.

I tried the following on a test area.

1. water and clean cloth. this did nothing.
2. leather cleaner/conditioner. this also did nothing.
3. rubbing alcohol and clean cloth. This reduced the intensity but the stain is still visible.

Any other suggestions?

polar fleece on top.

The bottom is "non slip backing" according to the website. I assume it some type of rubber.

You need good leather cleaner and a good leather scrub brush. I've used plenty of "leather cleaners" that did nothing. If you really want the stain out, you really need to spend the money. The brush is key though. I used the same cleaner with and without the brush and the difference was noticeable. I had my dog in the back of my M3 (I wanted to shoot myself, but I had no choice!) and his filthyness ruined my leather. Leather cleaner did okay, leather cleaner with scrub brush...came out great.

If you want to go all out, Leatherique is awesome stuff. Don't want to spend that much? Check out the many detail websites for good leather cleaners (just type detailing into google). If you just want to go to your auto parts store...I use Lexol PH Balanced Cleaner/Condition. You can get a leather scrub brush in many shoe sections. I had one for my Marine Corps boots, but bought one anyway...same thing, both worked just fine.
