IT is on the outside right? On the outside use equal portion of vinegar and warm water on a cloth. After spray off with cold water and chamois dry

Yeah, vinegar works too, but try not to get it on your paint.

You said something about your "tinted side" as in, one side of your car is tinted...sounds a little funky to me, but I just use windex on my windows. I don't think you need anything special for tinted windows (I could be wrong). Just make sure you don't wash em within a week of getting them tinted.

As for your windshield...that sounds pretty messed up. Buy a new windshield jk jk. Umm I'd start trying every single method people have posted here. Especially the

Don't use any cleaner that has ammonia in it. It can fade the tint.

You can wax the interior of your windows, plus it will leave them nice and smooth and it will help them stay cleaner longer. But on the tint, make sure that you don't use wax with polish in it, like a Cleaner Wax.

I think you're talking about "Barkeeper's Friend". You should be able to find it in grocery stores, I found some at Wal-Mart near all the household cleaners.

It's what we used to use at a detailing shop on windows that had an "oily" appearance, and wouldn't come off with anything else, no matter how much window cleaner, ammonia, vinegar, etc you use on it. Also works good to get rid of small scratch marks.

That's it! I'll be looking for Barkeeper's Friend now, not before I get a new bottle of rubbing alcohol though. I got my chamois already, I found an unused one in my garage.

Someone said something about my half tinted car, LOL. But really, what's the proper way to clean tinted windows, will any cleaner be bad for the tint, of course ammonia is bad, it'll peel the tint right off.

This thread has turned out very interesting, I thought this thread died days ago too.

For the tint, you can use any cleaner without ammonia in it. Just look for one that says "Safe for tinted windows". Invisible Glass is my absolute favorite. I see they have a spray bottle of it at some stores now (i.e. non-aerosol).

I always use a soft lint-free cloth for my tinted windows, I never use paper towels. The ones I happen to use are microfiber ones, I have had them for about 10 years or so, and they still work great.

Hello,

I just bought a new '08 Corolla and washed it for the first time.

Trying to clean the inside of the windsheild, I was driven crazy because I couldn't get it streak-free.

Those little black dots around the rearview mirror (what are they for???0 leave a horrible streaky residue when wiped.

It seems impossible to get a streak-free windsheild!

Any suggestions?

The little dots behind the mirror act as a sort of a sunscreen. They help to block some of the sun out that the sunvisor misses. Use the Stoner's Glass Cleaner, it works wonders.

They carry Stoner's at Wal-Mart. You can also get a product at Home Depot in their cleaning supplies dept. called Sprayway. I keep both on hand cause it seems each cleans some things better than the other. I use a two pass method. Spray product on and wipe with a MF towel, then immediately wipe with a separate MF towel to get anything left behind.

Does sound like maybe you have a build up of oily stuff though, like maybe evaporated armor-all type product? If you use products like armor all, they tend to evaporate when it's hot out and accumulate on the inside of the windows. Stoners & Sprayway should both help with cleaning something like that.

Turn on AC. It help remove the moisture. If it's outside, let the wiper do it or defroster. Keep the AC low so U won't get cold.
