So here's the story. My fathers 86 camry died yesterday. I eventually found that the fuel pump was not working. I tested the leads to the pump and they were not getting power (the blue with black stripe and white with black stripe) I ended up running new wires from the fuel pump relay under the hood to the tank. So now the fuel pump runs and makes 65psi max. Now the injectors aren't opening. The cold start injector works but the others won't do their thing. I also tried to pull trouble codes by jumping the T and E sockets in the diagnostic port but the engine light just flashes steady about every 2.5-3 seconds.
Questions
Should the blue/black stripe wire get power when the ignition is turned on? I checked at the fuse block and the tank and nothing.
Does something else run off the fuel pump circuit?
What does that engine light flashing mean?
Do I have any idea what I'm doing?
Can anybody help? You will be my hero for ever and will get a big cookie.
Thanks in advance.
