90 Camry Vibration @ Idle... help

I have a 1990 Camry that I just got going. I bought it with a bad auto tranny. I replaced and it runs very well, however I have this somewhat anoying vibration at idle. In Park, you can feel a slight virbation from the motor. When its in Drive or Reverse, the vibration is much worse. Motor mounts appear to be ok. In other words you can see the motor vibrating yet when you place your hand on the mount you dont feel it... so the mounts are absorbing the virbrations... but why do i feel it in the brake pedal and in the seat? Any ideas on what to check?

Thanks in advance...

Paul

I got the vibration too

I'm not certain, but I'm going to keep my foot on the brake while in drive, and see if it's RPM related. If it improves at around 1200 RPM or so, I'll see if I can set the idle control screw so that it idles around 1000. Not sure if any of this is possible.

Sounds pretty normal to me... Welcome to an older car... That is, if the mounts are truly ok.

You can also do tune-up items on the car to smooth things out a bit.
