2nd Generation Need some help/info/advice for 89 V6LE

Okay I need some help/advice/info for a 1989 Toyota Camry V6 LE. This car has 255,000 Miles on it and running strong but I bought it just recently and want to work on it. I just need a little info first. Please forgive me if the following questions have been answered before.

1.) I am getting new spark plugs. I was thinking about NGK's or maybe even Platinums but my question is what is the best spacing (or is it called gaping?) for them that would allow for best performance safely? I heard 35mm and 40mm but id rather ask you experts.

1.5)Which spark Plug is better, NGK Iridium IX Plugs or Autolite® Double Platinum Spark Plugs?

2.)What grade is the best oil to use in southern california for a toyota camry with 255,000 miles on it?

3.) What would cuase a car to shudder in the front end when taking your foot off the accelerator and make it even worse when you brake?

Thax for your guys' help. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Chris

1. Not sure about the spark plug gapping for a 2VZ-FE.

1.5. NGK. Try to stick with Denso or NGK.

2. I use 10W-30 year round.

3. Wheel out of balance? Warped rotor(s).

Warped rotors will cause shudder when braking.

Okay check this thing out here for more info on troubleshooting spark plug installation on most toyota models http://www.google.com/search?q=cache...s&ct=clnk&cd=1
Ok for furture reference I found out that the STANDARD gapping is 0.044 and thanks for all your help 88 and I think I am gunna get the NGK Iridium IX Plugs . They might be 6.99 per plug but hey *shrugs* they're supposedly the best that you can get. For more info on that check it out here http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/product...420&country=US. Okay hoped I helped other people that might have the same questions I did.

Whoa, don't get too far ahead of yourself! The recommended plugs for 2VZ-FE are platinum- tipped, and (per the tag right on the MAF housing) you're not supposed to gap them. Just leave 'em alone. Years ago I tried re-gapping the plugs in my Camry and everything went to hell. Misfires, poor mileage, etc.

I'm not 100% on this, but given that Toyota specifically recommends platinum plugs, iridium may not be the best idea. But who knows?

I hope you read this before spending...what, $50 taxes-in? I've always used NGK and they work well, last a long time, and are waaaay cheaper than those iridiums you quoted.

LOL your right actually a little more research and I found out that double platinum plugs actually react better the iridium.also my bad i misstated myself. the original gapping is 0.044 which is where you should leave it. Sorry about that.

I have a 89 camry LE V-6 with 300580 miles on it. I have used Regular NGK #BPCR6E11
spark plugs (non-platinum) and have never had any problems. They are pre gapped
but I check them just to be sure. Toyota recommends platinum plugs but I have put on
300580 miles on my V-6 with non-platinum and never had any problems. I use Castrol
10w30 oil and change it ever 2500 miles, so the engine is very clean inside.

^^ Good to know. You've probably saved a lot of $$ over the years with the regular plugs... and you've saved me a very painful experiment, as I won't have to get at that back bank of cylinders an extra time to check on the progress of regular plugs (which I had been considering trying for some time).
