Upgraded Alternator For Gen 2

As most of you with Gen 2 Camrys know is that our puny alternator only puts out 80 amps. I have found a guy on ebay that sells upgraded alternators for our vehicle. Guess what the amp output is? 165!!! That is more than 50% increase. I was excited and bid on it and ended up winning it for 120 bucks. Not bad in my opinion. It will make my sound system bump harder and brighten up my lights. I always get pissed when my bass hits and my gauge lights dim. Lol... If you guys want his email address let me know.
Peace,
Matt

Yes and no. It may take an extra little bit... 80amps x 13.5V = 1080 Watts = 1.44hp... And 165amps x 13.5V = 2227.5 Watts = 3.0hp. But that's only when its drawing maximum current... It will only be drawing a little bit most of the time, maybe 5-10 amps which is like .1 to .2 hp. (then again, 55Watt headlights x 2 = .15hp) No worries though - its all small compared to the output of the motor.
