1990 Tachometer - help!

I'm looking for an in-dash tachometer, or a conversion kit, for my 1990 Camry, which came originally without a tachometer. I've been searching all night (and most other nights, too) and haven't found anything.

Does anyone know of a place where I can get my Camry a tachometer?

Much help would be appreciated.

find a gen2 cluster that has a tach, straight swap.

pretty sure all of the LE's had tachs and 5spd models had them too. Just make sure you get one from a car that has the same engine as yours - ie 4cly needs 4cly cluster.

check ebay, usually a few on there.

Ah, thanks.

Mine's a 5 speed and is without a tach. I bought it used, so I suppose the people who had it before I did switched it out.

Why would the engine matter?

Nope, it will simply show a higher "RED" limit. (6750RPM instead of 6000RPM)

Its the speedo that will be off if you use a V6 cluster. But you could simply swap out the speedo dial from your old unit and pop it into the new one. Problem solved.

mmmm..... misinformation....

Ok, please listen to me, as I have actually done this before...

Find a cluster from a Camry with the same motor as your car with a tach. Take that cluster and pull your speedo assembly from your current cluster and put it in the cluster with the tach. Put the hybrid cluster back in your car. BAM. Plug and play, correct speedo, correct odometer and nice looking stock tachometer.
