2nd Generation repairing a rear window demister

Hi guys.
My daughter has a 91 camery and the rear window demister isn't working. The problem is that on one side where the wire is supposed to be connected to, the actual connector on the windscreen is missing.
Now is there any way that I can connect the wire to the demister. Any idea's guys.
Iv'e tried asking at all the local windscreen fitters but they recon I have to buy a new rear windscreen...( yea right ) there has to be a way to connect this power wire back into place somehow.
Thanks guys.
Cheers

Hi, I had the same problem with mine. The tab that is soldered to the defroster grid had come off. I bought a glue-like product from the autoparts store. Now it works well. Maybe you can get a new tab from a salvage yard and buy this stuff to attach it :http://www.frostfighter.com/ff_pdt_2000.htm

Good luck!

The defroster works by running current through the wire grid built into the glass. Yours seems to have broke off, so I suggest getting a similar clip, and soldering it back on. But, as long as you get it to make a connction again, it will work. Good luck

I;ve seen those break off before, and you may have (if you're lucky) a bit of the original solder from the tab still in place. Like Noobified said, it will work again if you can solder the wire back to it. I'd use the lowest wattage (heat) soldering iron you can find though, as I'm sure it's a risky job to solder on a window.
