2nd Generation Good price on 2VZ-FE

I'm running a 3S-FE right now, is the 2VZ-FE worth the trouble? What would be a good price for one taken out of a junkyard heap? The junkyard owner claims it runs (he actually has two, though one of them looks really bad), and he has gotten me very good deals on stuff in the past. He says he wants $300 for it, but I don't know if that is $300 that I'm going to regret down the road when I want a better engine.

If it's semi-worth it, considering price, I might just offer him $300 or $400 for the entire heap and at least get the MT out of it, too.

Problem is, 3SFE engined cars used a different chassis. The front mount near the timing belt is different. The section of the chassis would have to be cut and welded to suit the 2VZ mount. A better choice would be the 3SGE/GTE from a Celica GTS, or, buying a VZV Camry to begin with.

yeah, the engine bay looks mostly intact, but the rest of the car is nearly flattened. There is another one that has a smashed front end but the rest of the car is fine. So between the two it is one complete car.

ah, I see. Well, I got the car for free (from a friend), and I had something else in mind for buying a project car (sorry, a friend has a gen2 integra that I'm trying to pry away from her).

Lucky you :)

That's just not fair...I practically have to offer up my first-born child to get parts for my 5-spd V6, and I work at a scrap yard!!! Man, what I'd give to have even ONE parts car in this city...mine seems to be the only one for about 800km in either direction. *sigh*
