Highway-speed Vibration.

I've had this problem for a little while but it's never really bothered me as I rarely drive the car on the highway but would like to figure it out for peace of mind.

Car is a 91' 3sfe auto. I've recently gotten an alignment, new tires, and CV's but it still does it. Seems to start around 70, worst at 75 and gets better as speed increases. I can mainly feel it through the steering wheel and gas pedal, and a little bit through the body.

Any ideas?

It's tire balance. Get them rebalanced again. The place where you got your new tires installed should replace them again for free.

wheels may be bent (steel type), tires wobbly tread (spin it and look at them, seldom do they spin perfectly with no up and down due to tread and tire irregularities). And likethe other fellow said, balance, they may have done a poor job of it when you changed tires.

I'm pretty sure it's not the tires, they're brand new and it did the same thing with the old ones. I have aftermarket 17" Aluminum wheels. Could be the balance I guess but that means two different shops both screwed it up.

i know its a long shot, but i had somewhat of the sam concern, raised my car on the lift at work, noticed that both axles had extreme play in them. (i actually broke one a week later). i replaced both axles and havent had a vibration since.

Go through the suspension. Check the top mounts of the struts. Look at the two axles. I believe the passenger side axle has a bearing supporting it. Make sure the two bolts are torqued correctly. The tires/wheels are still suspicious. I think that there are places that will balance them on the car. You might check into that if all else fails.
