Flooded Engine

I'm getting an excess amount of fuel in my engine. The spark plugs come out wet and stinking like gas, and when i took off the intake hose and look through the throttle body into the intake manifold i can see gas sitting in it. I don't know how gas is getting up there, since the injectors are down below, and all i can think of is that the cold start injector is leaking a lot of gas, or that the ecu is bad. I checked the resistance on the cold start injector, and that was fine, but does anybody know how to do further testing on the cold start injector?

To do quick leakage test:
  • remove 2 bolts that attaching cold start injector to the intake plenum, leave a fuel line conneted but unplug electrical connector
  • insert the injector tip into the can
  • short FP and B+ terminals in diag. box with jumper
  • turn ign. on for 3 seconds, do not crank the engine
  • turn ign. off , remove jumper
  • check the can/ injector tip. No fuel must be present/ leaking
  • reinstall injector

Have you exonerated the cold start injector timing switch as well as the injector itself?

I've had the same issue with mine, and yes, it was a leaking cold start injector. I got it to stop leaking, then unplugged it.

The leak test I did was very similar to what Doc posted, but my instructions said to observe the injector with the FP & B+ terminals jumped, which I did. I don't think I did anything with the ignition switch though. Spec is 1 drop per minute leakage, mine was 1 drop every 3-4 seconds.
