Power steering fluid comes out of the reservoir when I move the front wheels. 91 V6

1991 V6 Wagon:

I had both front wheels off while replacing control arms last night. I moved the front wheels from left to right several times to access all the nuts and bolts I needed to. After awhile I noticed oil on the pavement.

Turns out when I move the wheels from hard left or right to the other side (steering wheel is spinning inside the car) PS fluid comes out the top of the reservoir...with the cap on....engine NOT running.

It IS possible the the preveious owner filled the reservoir too full...he said the PS system leaks.

Any other concerns here? ANy chance it's a bad PS pump or steering rack? I've not run up against anything like this before.

Other ideas??????

Reminds me what my grandparents Gen 1 (1985) camry is doing. There's like power steering fluid all over the underside of the hood and such. Such a mess. Not sure whats causing it but for all I know, there's some kind of "hissing noise" when the steering noise is turned. Seems like the leak is coming from either the hose on the bottom of the reservior or from the cap itself.

All I know it's leaking alot. Got to fill it up (top off) every day to keep it from low. Depends of course how often the car is used too.

all you did was push the fluid out of the rack when you turned the wheel, just refill it
