2nd Generation What Do You think this would sound like?

Ok so I’m wanting to do some exhaust stuff to my car when I get some money b/c its kinda rusty, and I was wondering what do you think dual exhaust Magnaflow system would sound like on a 4cyl 89 Toyota Camry? Would it give it that throaty sound? Or is that just not possible with my car?

Thanks

2nd Generation

dual exhaust is actually not good because it can cause back pressure issues *been there* and make your engine weak... but you can do with just magnaflow and it sound meaner than any honda near by with a header and air intake up grade also and new piping all the way back mine sounded mean but where i live i kept getting complaints on my car when i would leave of the night so i silenced the whole car again :/

I have an Apexi N1 on my 3s-fe camry 5spd. Sounds nice and has a deep tone to it.

I've got headers, and an HKS high power muff on my 3sfe. it really sounds good in low rpms... and it sounds good at high way speeds too, but without a cat in mine... there are certain rpms where the sound is not deep, but its high strung like a honda's. Although it gets high at certain levels, it still sounds way better than any honda out there. I'd suggest a straight through muffler. if you keep your cat in the car... it will not crack at certain rpms, but purr at a very low tone.

some good straight thru's are:

HKS high power muff
Apex n1

there's others out there... the n1 will be cheaper for you than the HKS, but i think the sound is better with the HKS personally.

What kind of muffler would you recommend for a car with a hollowed out cat?.....hypothetically speaking, of course

I would suggest which ever muffler you want really. Just realize the straight thru will be very loud without the cat. I love my HKS high power muff. Sounds much nicer than most hondas. HKS isn't the only people who make straight thru muffs tho. Greddy and Apexi make them too. I do know that HKS is more expensive than Apexi's n1 muff tho. But both are pretty slick soundin muffs.
