91 Camry OK on when hot but....

Hi everyone, my camry run on the freeway fine, but after I got off the freeway and make a stop, when I step on the gas pedal the engine shaked and does not want to accelerate and finally goes but with a lot less power. I noticed it last night, but this morning when I drove it semms OK. I noticed the other day it also act like that when the engine was hot (still within operating temperature, not over heat!) Anyone know what is wrong with my car. Thanks

Chopper,

I would pull the throttle body and clean the IAC valve (idle air control). While there, clean the butterfly valve and all of the passages in the throttle body and clean the EGR valve (and the rubber hoses connected to it).

Afterwards consider running some Chevron Techroline (or similar) twice a year.

This may sound wierd, but check your throttle body position sensor. The transmission computer could be receiving a funky signal from it when hot. If the problem is less apparent the more softly you ease onto the gas, that is another clue that this is your problem. Once I diagnosed this by driving around with the glove compartment out and checking voltages into the transmission computer during driving. Hit the pin for throttle body input and just the extra draw of the electronic multimeter sent the car into convulsions
