2nd Generation Aftermarket Foglights

I just got me a set of yellow brick-shaped foglights from walmart. Anyone here have aftermaket foglights? How did you guys mount it? Oh and how did you guys wire it? Do I need relays or fuses if I'm just gonna wire it to the parking lights? Pics?

Yes, you need a relay, inline fuse holder + fuse, and a switch.

Did your lights come with a wiring harness?

Yeah it came with some wires and a fuse. I don't know if it came with a relay. Anyways, I connected everything and followed the instructions. connected the ground on the lights, power to fuse then to positive terminal for power then the switch and ground. After that, I tested the lights and they worked. After driving a few miles with the lights I parked the car to get some tacos. When I started the car, it won't start. I just replaced the alternator and battery a few months ago. What do you guys think went wrong?

That'll work just fine.

The one in my drawing is a SPDT (single pole double throw). Only difference is that it has an extra terminal (87a), but its not used.

87a is NC (normally closed) to 30. When the coil in the relay (85 and 86) is energized, 87a to 30 is open.

87 is NO (normally open) to 30. When the relay is energized, 87 to 30 is closed.

Sounds like a short somewhere or something is not getting power.

Have you checked the battery?

Yah checked the battery. When the key is in the car, all seems fine. The beeping noise and cluster lights are on but when I turn the key from on to ignition it all shuts down.

I checked the fuse box under the hood this morning and everything's good. After trying to start the car, it just died. It had no power at all.
