Gen2 V6 Owners...

What kind of cars have you've beaten with your Gen2 V6? I raced my friend's 2002 G20 Sport and we were pretty much even, he pulls a little at first, and then I start pulling from him at around 55-60. Does that sound about right? Either my car seriously has something wrong with it, or it really just is that slow. I mean.. I have a 156hp V6 and he has a 140hp i4, that's a pretty big disappointment for me. Considering I have a V6 I should have a lot more torque than he does. Maybe I should start giving my throttle body a good scrub.
Btw, only mod I have on my camry is a magnaflow muffler.

Yep.. both of our cars are autos. Guess I'm just always expecting too much from my car. Ah well, I'll look up the weight on both cars and see how much of a diff it is. I can't imagine it to be thaat much heavier, since I consider a gen2 to be a pretty fairly small car.

It sure looks small but they made them to last, nowdays they make them out of fiberglass and aluminum so they can save on fuel and go faster, but they're death traps . If u get in an accident with those u'r a sardine in a tin can..

Well... I have a 4-cylinder 5-speed gen2. I was able to keep up with a gen2 V6 from 0 to about 75 or 80 when we stopped. He had a cone filter and muffler, I had a cone filter, header and cat back exhaust and a passenger. It really is just the auto transmission that's holding you back.

Yup. I rode in a stock auto V6 to compare it to my modded auto 4 cyl and the conclusion I came to was that I really couldn't tell the difference. You really need a 5 speed to see the extra power of the V6. They are faster than the 4 but only slightly. Their big downfall is that the fuggers are heavy. While the 4 cyls were about 2700 pounds the 6's were pushing 3000. With only a little over 150hp, that does not make for very impressive acceleration, especially with the automatic.

i have a 89 4 banger and will bring it to you. the only difference in the4s and v6s is the high speed. a little buck on the four banger will take your ass.
