Lightbulb addco rear anti-sway bar for my 88' 3SFE

I might buy a Addco anti-sway bar for the rear.....my question is, are
there factory holes set up for it or do I have to tap some new holes?
As it is now, the 3sfe sv21 has no stock bar whatsoever(not sure of
the V6)

thanx for the response.
Perhaps then Ill wait before I buy one

I just bought one of those cheap strut tower braces, maybe that will be sufficiant for me....Im not looking to do any high speed highway driving and test the car's limits.
Next week Im gonna get some Gabriels all the way around. My Cam has the stock struts, and at 132k and 18 years, it's well over due!

Do you think that I should replace the strut mounts as well just to be on the safe side?

Rear strut mounts seldom require attention. The stock rear sway bars have tendency to break.

well strut mounts i would replace em.. i didn't however i just put in grease if it's not moving around a lot so it's fine... if you can get some metal end links at the junk yard.. it's pretty rare but it's not too hard to find.. i think they came on the earlier 88-89 models.... if u were close to me i would of given u the whole setup...i have a few extras ehehehhe.get the brackets, bushings, end links, and the bar itself..

2nd Generation rear sway bar

Hi i have had my camry since june and had a similar prob i took it in for a old vehicle tune up to the tune of 1400 and some odd dollars well included in this they replaced the rear strut bars and a day or two after i noticed a rattling while driving to find out my sway bars had sheared in half. Needless to say i was pissed cause i thought it was the alignment shops fault but i wasnt eager enough to make a fuss cause it also gave me an opotunity to replace it with a performance one and i guess what i am getting at is i am relieved to hear it is common in camrys and would like to know where to get a perfomance sway bar especially since i love drifting and camry's arent actually that bad farely balanced.

That's odd, I was under the impression a rear anti-sway bar was standard. All of my Camrys have had them. I had to replace the one in the Wagon since it had fractured, makes a big difference in taking the curves.

What about Front strut mounts?.... should they be replaced Doc?...do they have a tendency to go bad?

My Cam is not even a DX!
It's a base model with some extras like power windows/locks and a power moonroof/sunroof.
My guess is that if a car is not equipped with said rear anti-sway bar, then it's not a major issue. However, if you have a LE with a broken bar then you will notice the drop in handling!
And I guess wagons have them no matter what due to the increased size of the body.

Very odd.
The wagon is a DX so was my 89 stick, they both had them cause I took the one out of the 89 for the broken one in the wagon. I'll have to go look at the other DX parts car I've got here to see if it has one now.

Im sure the wagons had them no matter what the model(bigger body deemed it neccasary),not sure of the other.....maybe he meant that the base model has no sway bar(which is what I have), but the other models do?
