well.....long story short....it's not worth it. not one bit.

the engine should be the 1zzfe if I remember correctly, and basically speaking...it's not a motor that's much better than the one that you have now.

the GT engine is pretty much a slow econo engine. Now, if the car had the 2z, then it'd be a different story- that'd be the engine with VVTLi....the one with lift.....

you'd be better off spending money on the 3sgte swap since the engine mounts will fit your car and no custom mounts will have to be made

and for the record, the 1mzfe is the V6 on the 94-2001 camry

lol i knew that was one of the engine codes but i dont think about those much bc ive mostly been a 3sge, 3sfe, 3sgte, and 22R engine person... lol...

btw im not really worried about the power wise because after extensive headwork and alot of custom made parts my 3sfe keeps up with an 03 celica gt already from 40 and up he only beats me in the low range :P

That just doesn't make any sense... Twice the money, more than twice the work for half the horsepower... ???

3s-ge, 3s-gte or a VZ/MZ V6 are the only reasonable swaps for a gen2 Camry.

Seriously, how many gen2 Camry owners out there have done a 3s-gte swap (or any motor swap for that matter!). It's all well and good to take the road less traveled, but if that road leads nowhere, it was useless.

All these people keep saying that 'everyone is doing the 3s-gte' and stuff like that. Where are they?!? Me, and a couple other guys. That's not everyone. Those that did it, went down the path because it made sense - minimal custom work for maximum benefit (whether it is for speed or 'cool').

^werd, and when guys like Charlie here, who know there stuff and have years of experience with cars, and specifically camry's, do the swap, it just drags out all the people who think its a peice of cake.

with a 1zz, you're looking at custom EVERYTHING, engine mount, transmission mount, axles, wiring, exhaust, and probably plenty more, and what do you gain out of it over stock replacement? NOTHING! even if it was possible, which of course it is, no one in there right mind should spend thousands of dollars on something that will yeild nothing. Stick with an S block or a V6, only thing that makes any sense/feasible in a gen2.
