oh man another problem, Steering!!

I think my steering pump is on its way out
when the car is going at a slow speed and I turn the wheel the power steering isnt fully working and I can hear alot of squealing.
the pump is run off of the alternator/crank pulley right? could it just be that the belt for the pump doesnt have enought tension and its slipping?
I was told that you should ussualy replace the steering pump when replaceing the timing belt but I did only the belt and now Im probably gonna have to take everything apart again to do the pump Ahhh!!

ya Ive checked the P/S fluid it wasnt even registering so I topped it up but the problem still persists

is it very dificult to replace the P/S pump I know that it is located right behind the timing belt/crankshaft, I just want to see if I can get some info before I attempt it
thanks!

Are you saying the pump was suspected of having problems before you replaced the belt? It is possible the belt may just be slipping. The suggestion may have been to replace the water pump when replacing the timing belt. The PS pump is a replace when it fails item.

Probably. That's what it sounds like to me. Retighten the belt and the problem should be gone.
