Exclamation Need help removing the stabilizer bar link

As the title says, I'm trying to take out my rear strut, but the bolt is weird as hell, and the FSM (online) doesn't mention anything about how to take the weird-ass nut/bolt/rivet thing off.

Sorry about not knowing the technical term, but yeah... I need help to get this sh*t off, because I HAVE to have this project done by Friday.

This is a really tricky job...once they get old and rusty, those nuts do NOT want to come off. Be really careful with the allen wrench, because if you strip the head of the bolt (the way I did on both my Camry and my GTS) then you'll have to saw the damned thing off and buy new ones. The linkages are $100 EACH and they're dealer-only. Use lots of penetrating oil for a day or two before you try to loosen the nut.

Do what the others have suggested. Soak it liberally in a good penetrating oil before trying to remove it. I would do it for 2 days straight and then drive it to help the penetrating oil work it's way in and do it's job. When trying to remove it, you hold it with an allen wrench in the center while turning the nut. If it does break, NAPA carried the "sway bar end links" for my 98 Camry. They were around $60.

Good luck.

Alright... well... I don't have metric wrenches (only sockets), so I'm leaving the back of the car stock for now. I'll get around to doing the rears in about a week or so, but right now, I need to hook up my front brake lines and bleed the system and I should be good to go. Car does look a little weird being raked though... slammed in the front, stock out back.

Also, when I was playing around with the strut in the back, it seems that the sway bar/stabilizer bar gets in the way of removing it from the axle hub thing (sorry, I don't know my technical terms). Is there a trick to getting this off, or will I have to take the motherfucking sway bar off too?
