1986 camry wont start

hey everyone,

I'm new to this site, and sorry if this has been talked about previously, but i got a 1986 Camry hatchback 4dr that wont start at all. i don't even get any dummy lights, stereo, or wipers... (anything related to ignition) also when i turn the key theres no start either... the only click i get is in the relay box beside the battery. all fuses are good and i just changed the ignition switch and still nothing. I'm almost positive that its apart of the ignition because i still get head lights, horn, and 4 way blinkers. and this all happened in between the time of 8:AM (had car running fine) and lunch (car was dead).

any help would be awesome I'm completely stumped

also: could it be a fuse able link? if so where is it i heard its around the starter

thanks

Check both ends of each battery cable for damage or corrosion. When you replaced the ignition switch did it have power? There should have been live wires going to it from the battery. The lights do not go through the ignition switch. Pickup a cheap voltmeter and see where you do and do not have power. Fuses and circuit breaker boxes should be located in the passengers AND drivers side kick panel areas plus the drivers side of the engine compartment (you should be able to see it from above).
