2nd Generation JDM Head Problem

hey everyone,

i finally got a chance to install my JDM 3s-fe camry head yesterday, and now im faced with alittle bit of a problem. how do i hook up the cold start injection system? there is a extra sensor on the extension housing that im not sure what it goes to. i think it might be something for the cold start injection, but dont know for sure, and if it wires up the same as the old one on the intake manifold? if anyone has any insight, or access to a wiring diagram that could help me, that would be great. i know you guys really know your shit.

Joe Portera

P.S.- i can post picks up if anyone needs to see something that will help me.

You should be using your stock intake manifold. This would solve all your issues, though you will have to figure out a way to block off the EGR parts (very easy).

there was alittle effort in switching to the original manifold. and the design change in the manifolds wouldn't give me the full potential of the head that i wanted. what i was hoping for is a japanese spec wiring diagram to see if they have cold start injection. its not a big problem, just takes long to start. i have the usdm wiring diagrams in my room. i just wanted to see if the jdm had cold start injection and where it was as well as what i needed to do to get it on my car. when i get a chance either tomorrow or thursday i will post some pics.

Joe

P.S. how is that motor going in your camry charlie?

It's all up and running, though I need to replace the clutch... The car is FAST now.

You don't necessarily need the cold-start injector to run the car. Just make sure you have the correct injectors in there if you are going to run the motor with your current ECU.
