1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Had something asked of me, like other parts of my gen 2 camry, (like the fact i didn't have rear speakers but the mounting stuff was there) with the doors, are the holes etc drilled for the power windows and central locking? I know that the hole to thread the wires through arn't there. But my doors are perfect, and would be nice for some luxury.
Cheers
Matt

I'm not sure about in the metal frame in the diir itself, but I believe you'd either need to find new inner panels.. Or cut holes in the existing ones to fir the control panel, etc.. I think all the wiring for it is in the loom.. I've never checked..
I have it on this PC somewhere as a PDF document.. i think
My PC had a meltdown a few weeks ago.. So a lot of stuff I had went bye bye.. I'll have a look soon
I don't know about the older Camrys like ours, but the new Camrys have specific hinge-side panels with or without a hole for running wires. I saw this on the door weld station I was working with on CAD, and was really surprised they'd do that. Didn't notice anything different with regards to the inner door ass'y.
Personally, I don't see the merit of having different parts from a manufacturing standpoint, but evidently Toyota does.
