88 3sfe & tranny questions

I did it again. I bought another project Camry. It has an automatic tranny that is bad. It barely moves in forward or reverse. The fluid was overfilled when I bought it. I was looking at my repair manual and it said the tranny pump screen could be restricted, and needs to be cleaned. Its a long shot but has anyone ever seeing this be the cause? My thoughts are that if the fluid wasn't pumping properly it would fry the clutches in the tranny. I have another tranny I was planning on putting in, but I like the idea of cleaning the screen much more than swapping the tranny.

It also appears to be leaking coolent from the front of the engine above the oil filter. There are a couple of metal tubes that go to the thermostat housing? I can't tell if it is the thermostat housing or where the tube attach. Has anyone seeing this before?

Thanks for looking. THIS FORUM HAS SAVED ME TIME AND MONEY ON MANY OCCASIONS!!!!!!!!!!

One of the tubes from thermostat housing has rubber o-ring, that leaks.
Drop the transmission pan and look for metal deposits there. If the car moves normally in low or second position, the direct clutch may be damaged.
