Dealers are so woefully unqualified to make any statements regarding the mechanical condition of a car. Did you inspect this car for possible purchase yourself, or for someone else?

I think he is trying to make the point that the stealership that has this car is trying to pull one over on somebody. And he wasn't letting his relative fall for it.
