2nd Generation SLow on the Accelerator

Hey i just recently bought a 91 Camry with a 4 banger not sure whether its a dx le or wut not cuz they emblems were toaken off.

Here is my problem:
Whenever i come to a dead stop and idle with the car in drive it sits there and acts like its gonna stall on me. When i go to pull off it takes a long ass time for the car to pick up speed. I really aint sure on this one because im a chevy kid and thats all i know. Help me out please

Poke around here and read some of the posts. There are links to manuals and advice for maintenance.

Clean the TB, the IAC, and make sure you can get a pint of fuel in 30 seconds. Check the hose between the air cleaner and the TB for cracks (allowing the entry of "unmetered air") and the vacuum hoses for looseness/leaks.

And delete the two "extra" posts.

if it doesn't have a badge then it's the base model

Do what timebuilder suggested. I would start with the throttle body and idle air control cleaning.

If it doesn't have a tach on the dash it's a DX, otherwise it's an LE.

Unless the badges came off or were taken off at some point. The model badges are only held on by two-sided sticky tape from the factory......whereas the the "Toyota Camry" tag on the passenger side is actually mounted on with holes to the trunk

my former '90 DX had a tach......my current base model formerly didnt have one(my local boneyard remedied the situation for me)

I would check obvious things such as TB, Air Filter, Fuel Filter.

clean the tb and check for the big intake hose being loose or cracked, the tach has no bearing on the model type, usually no badge means base model but not always and the options dont mean a hill of beans on model type as i have seen all combos and types

When sitting in the driver's seat, it is a vertical black cannister near the left strut tower.

Since DX and LE are trim grades, I'd say the lights should fit. The yard that sells them will know what they fit, since it's in their computer.

I just did this swap about 2 months ago. Got the tach cluster on ebay for $45. Took me longer than 7 minutes because I also swapped out the speedometer with my original, so the mileage would remain correct. Very easy, plug-n-play swap. This is a great bang-for-the-buck mod.

Timebuilder: JUMP on that ebay deal!!! That's a great price. I can't believe 120 people have looked at that auction and no one has bought it.
