2nd Generation rusty quarter panel

ok my next project is to do something with my nasty rear quaterpanel right at the wheel well, it likes to rust there. anyone have any info on putting new sheetmetal or how much it would cost to get work done on it?

yeah simple enough, would then need a guy to weld it on afterward. also would be hard to find ones in good condition

Nah, it's simple enough to find one in good condition...but you're right about the welding. If you can't do it yourself, and you don't know a backyard bodyshop guy, it can be really freakin' expensive.

Unfortunately, welding on another quarter panel is the only acceptable way to fix the wheel well rust. ANY other solution will rot-out within a year or two.

I cut out the entire section on the rear quarter panel that was rusty. I then used fiberglass to create a new panel where i just cut out the rust. I put on a few layers of fiberglass, then once i got it nice and thick and bonded well with the rest of the quarter panel, i used bondo to make make everything smooth, and shape the wheel well area. It looks just like it did when it was new.
