Is this even possible? Reason im asking is that I absolutely love the way HID's look. I dont know what wattage the new mercedes, audi and alfa cars use but they are the blue hid's that really stand out from all the other cars on the road at night. Id like to do something like that but need more info, thanks.
Look on ebay, you can find HID conversion kits but they aren't cheap. I just took a quick look and they're close to $400. I don't remember what number bulb our cars take, but do a search for HID 9004 or whatever the right number is.
man screw the conversion.. just get some HID kit... i saw a gen2 with HID kit on the freeway sure it was blinding everyone in front for it... but it sure was bright as heck... just get some white ones don't get blue/purple ones.. less than 6000k should be whitish

Those cars have projectors. You can get a HID kit, but it still won't have the same look as those cars unless you do a total custom projector retrofit and get custom clear lenses made as well.

I know that CARQUEST sells replacment bulbs called lazerblue or another type called truview, part numbers BP9004BK and BP9004TV will be direct replacments for our camrys... not projector or "HID" but you'll get brighter light and more projection with either

The light is actually not brighter. It's just an illusion that makes you think that it's brighter.
I took the cheap way out and got silverstars for my car when one of my originals blew out. You gotta keep in mind that the car is an old Camry, so it's not worth putting tons of money into.

+1.
Don't even think about an HID kit or any sort of conversion, unless you plan on doing a proper HID projector retrofit. You'll not only blind other drivers, but you'll actually decrease the amount of usable light on the road, and you'll probably be pulled over.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Silverstars are an exellent choice for replacement lights, and everyone I've talked to that has them loves them.
Too bad they don't make projectors for Gen 2 Camry. I was toying with the idea of getting a set of projectors from a car with similar style headlights and trying to create a hybrid light assembly. Fortunately though, I choose my battles more wisely.
Could be done, but I really don't have the motivation. I'd rather hook up with a nice set of driving lights and put Silverstars in the OEM headlights. That would brighten things up a bit.
these are the 8000k blue look hid's made for 9003 (35w) cars.
so you're telling me that these are really blinding and I could get pulled over? I would think
that the only reason these would blind you unless they aern't aimed correctly. Have you
seen these in person?
Man... there's so much about HIDs that you need to learn...
HIDs are not designed to be used with halogen projectors. The optics of halogen projectors are designed in such a way that they reflect the light in a certain way and aren't blinding. HID uses a different type of light source, and is much more intense. Even if it is aimed correctly, you will have hot spots flying everywhere bouncing off the reflector and many of these will cause glare for other drivers. Regardless of how you aim the headlights, you WILL be blinding others with glare. Halogen reflectors and halogen projectors are not designed for HIDs. So don't do it. If you're going to do HIDs, then do an HID projector retrofit. Otherwise, forget about it. HIDs in halogen reflectors = major rice.
Even in this picture, I don't even need to see them against a wall to see all the crazy glare. On top of that, the camera angle is WELL above where the light cutoff is supposed to be, and you can already see it glaring.
I'm telling you all of this for your own good. Take it from someone that has done A LOT of work on HIDs, including my own HID projector retrofit. HID kits are the gay sauce (and thats not looking at the fact that 99.5% of HID kits are made in Taiwan and usually die in about a year or so).

No problem man. Yeah, HID kits are definitely not worth the $200+ price tag. I paid about $575 for parts for my projector retrofit and did the work myself, and it was worth every penny and every second.
Notice the really clean, razorsharp cutoff along the wall? Absolutely no glare. Impossible to get that kind of output from an HID kit. (BTW, that wall at the end is pretty far away... just goes to show you how good real HID optics are. )
