I finally got a brain and changed the plugs (old were wrong brand, best are NGK), distributor cap & wires, and rotor. Now, no problem when yota sits for a few days. Duh!

I compared them with conventional (non-grooved) designs, and I found that I perceived more power being produced with the grooved plugs.
