2nd Generation Whiteline Anti-Sway Bar: The washers from Heck.

Well I got the washers from Global Performance Parts (Whiteline) They said three per side will do the trick to bring it to stock caster, for some reason I don't agree, I don't think that is enough. But it could just be the way it looks. And I know we already talked about this subject.

Well as I was installing them I ran into a few problems. And I noticed no one else said anything about this. If I put the washers in the logical place I thought the would go, they don't fit on the passenger side. Since the passenger side has some really thick and different stock bushing washers than the drivers side stock bushing washers. I have a few pictures to help.

So because the 38 mm washers provided by Whiteline wouldn't fit. I measured the thickness of some 1/2" washers and drilled out the middle of them to fit over the threaded bar end. The outside diameter on these is 35 mm.

Besides these washers are 2.5 mm thick, three together is 7.5 mm, which isn't even 3/8" of an inch? Maybe I'm getting into this to much. But it just doesn't all add up. I really don't care in the end as long as the tires don't rub, and the caster is stock or more.

Here is the picture above of the Whiteline washer (38mm O.D.) and the washer I made (35mm O.D.) The stock bushing washers are on the top. The one on the right is the passenger side, and the one on the left is the driver side. I looked at the picture of the car in the Haynes repair manual and it has the same set up. Anyone know the reason Toyota used different washers?

The above pictures shows how the stock washer is dished, so the spacers don't sit in flush. This will cause a bit more spacing.

So in the above picture I thought the logical place for the spacers to go would be spot 2. But this makes all the problems I'm having. Unless they were put in spot 1, but then the stock bushing washer wouldn't be tight to the bushing like it is on the stock bar. Where did you guys put yours?

Help me out if this makes sense. I have it apart right now and I wasn't going to put it back together until I got some answers. And I have an appointment on Wednesday to get it aligned.

Thanks.

yeah the washers doesn't fit on one side.. i forgot this detail.... which is why i said home depot will solve it.. i just used some other washer that fits in there that's almost the same width.. i had it at a shop since they where installing my bushings the sway bar had to come out anyways.. they had plenty of washers laying around so i just picked up 2 and putted it in while no one was looking.
