Cost of importing from Japan...

Anyone familiar with the fees? This is a car I would consider importing:

for only $1700 CDN to buy, it might be worth it next year (or whenever I recover from these student loans...). Twin turbo, rear wheel...*sigh*

It's gonna cost you at least $3000 CDN to get it over, and that's a low estimate.

Oh well, $6000 can either get you a run-of-the-mill North American car, or a sexy, sexy Japanese saloon coach. I know what I'll be choosing.

Theres a lot of Japan spec cars for sale here in Calgary. They aren't 1800 but they are fairly cheap.

Yeah, Alberta's been making me jealous a lot lately (can't wait to finish school and move out there). Girlfriend's sister just moved out there, called last night to tell me she sees "my cars" all over the place (see my signature for specifics). Older Yotas are getting kinda rare here in the Ontario boons. Except, that is, for the two MINT Alltrac Camrys I see in the University parking lot every day.
