head swap

what all would be involved with swapping a 3sge head onto a 3sfe? i know you'd have to get the computer for sure. But how about the internals and such of the engine? does the ge head bolt on to the block perfect fit?

I'm just wondering if the ge beams black top head could even be bolted onto the engine block without modification. I was looking at a picture of the beams engine, and of course, the engine mounts in the altezza differently than what the engine would need to be in order to fit in a camry. because of it being designed in that way, the oil dip stick and such are in different locations, that if the beams were placed into a camry... would be very difficult to reach.

not really a 3sge is a 3sge it'll mount right up to your 3sfe mounts since it is a 3s block afterall. i don't think the head would fit along the lines of the coolant passages don't match up.. but it'll bolt up and everything.. some guy did a 3sge swap into his car.. he didn't complain about the oil dip stick

Good luck finding an Altezza beams motor + wiring harness and all the necessary sensors... You would have to swap oil pans and manifolds (and probably other stuff) to get it to work in the Camry. Don't even go there...

You can use an 'older' 3s-ge from any generation Celica with very few problems.

Also, don't even think of using just the head. Get the whole motor - it will just bolt right in place of your 3s-fe.
