2nd Generation SHould I go with magnaflow on my 3S-FE?!

recently I have been thinking about a muffler for my camry. HKS and Apexi N1 were reccomended but are too expensive for my taste. Ive heard magnaflow are good mufflers as well. Would the following magnaflow give the tone of a HKS or apexi N1?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAGNA...mZ170073837263

I am seeking a tone similar to this

i just need some last minute advise before I buy. Im keeping my cat too and stock 2" piping btw.

Magnaflow does make some nice mufflers. I haven't heard one on a gen 2, but a friend of mine had one on a gen 3 (5S-FE). The sound was deep, but not loud like a fart can.

I would go a oval muffler vs. a canister, but its up to you. The factory muffler is oval.

2nd Generation muffler

I measured the stock muffler and it was 20" long by 12" wide an 6" high, that magnaflow is smaller and I think will fit the bill nicely.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Magna...spagenameZWD1V

would something like this be able to be hid better than the roundbody muffler i suggested?

I had a magnaflow muffler with two resonators under the car with a high-flow cat and headers on my old Camry, and it sounded pretty good. Mellow, nice but not to deep tone, etc...

You'll be happy with a Magnaflow muffler...

I've got a Magnaflow on my 90 LE All-Trac, I had my cat gutted, and my resonators taken out, a K&N airfilter put in and I modded my airbox the other day and it sounds pretty nice. Its not a high toned fart can, its got a nice low tone. I've actually got a video clip of it that I've been meaning to put up on youtube, but I havent gotten around to it yet. If your interested in seeing the clip, let me know and I'll post it up...

rennek37 could you post that clip. I'm going to be installing a new muffler eventually. I'm not sure what to get. I'm looking for the sound you are describing. I would like to actually hear what it sounds like. Thanks.

i doubt youd get a 3sfe to sould erm.... 'tight' like a honda motor...tight as in, it doesnt have the lumpy noise and its very, very smooth.

magnaflow/street muffles tend to give a deep mellow bubbly noise, while their race models give the higher pitched more f1-ish whine.

Got the vids done...

Well, sorry it took so long to get the videos up and done, but they are finished and I have them put up on youtube. One vid is with it parked, then I rev it up. The other one is a clip from inside the car going down the highway, and the other one is a clip taken outside the car going down the road.

First vid->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP92n9Re2qE
Second vid->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcLMdH-ogbs
Third vid->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTTYqI-IMQA

By the way YES my car looks like shit and its dirty as hell, but its winter time in Alaska, the roads up here are absolute HELL on your car, and there is really no point in washing your car. Cause when you clean it during the winter, it just gets dirty again in a few minutes. Let me know what you guys think.

Actually, suprisingly it doesnt drone to much. I drove it up to Wasilla this last summer and was doing about 80-90 all the way, and it wasnt that bad at all and its about a 250-300 mile drive one way. It really isnt that loud inside the car, it might sound like it in the video clip, but it really isnt that bad. My buddy has a 2000 Mustang GT with a Cobra engine, it doesnt have the supercharger on it though. His is straight piped all the way back and its loud as hell, we drove it down to Homer last weekend and that thing drones a lot more than my car does, that thing is crazy fast too.
