1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
After going back and forth haggling the guy, I ended up getting a set of them anyway. The downside was that the car only had three of the wheels, with one rolling on a steelie. As we were about to leave, lo and behold, we spotted another Camry and it had basketweaves! It had three too, that's wierd.
For some reason, I want to black it out and leave a silver lip (wish it had some). Hopefully someone is good with Photoshop skills.

Now wash & wax that car!!!
I finally was able to wash mine tonight, but didn't get any pics of it. Hopefully it will be nice this weekend so I can get a new sig pic.
Hey, how many spacers did you use behind the lug nuts? Mine required 2. You going back there anytime soon? I still need 4 lugnuts because mine originally had wheel locks, which I'm not re-using.
Haha thanks for the comments guys, I almost jumped when I saw the second Camry and indeed left a happy, fulfilled camper. I don't know about the two extra wheels though, what am I to do with them? We switch them out the next day at the yard too, keeping two of our steelies to fit winter tires on them. Yeah HomeGrown, definitely get some pics and we'll start a whole new club haha. BTW, um what spacers? All we took off were the lugnuts so maybe the spacers were still stuck in the holes? If you really need them I can probably stop by when I have free time.
No buddy, don't make a special trip for them. Thanks for the offer though.
What are your lugnuts like? They are the shouldered ones, aren't they? Yeah, mine needed 2 washer type spacers behind them, because with just 1 spacer, the lug nuts bottomed out on the brake rotor, and didn't tighten down the wheel (that was the whole ordeal that resulted in me getting the wagon for free).
If you had that issue, you would have known, as it would have made a terrible noise. Just to be sure, grab each tire at the top and shake it firmly in & out to make sure there's on movement there. All this makes me think that mine has the wrong lugnuts on it. The spacers could have stuck on the wheels, but the chances of all of them sticking in all 4 wheels is not possible.
Nice. Let me guess, the one that had the steelie was the driver rear?
Man, with all these attention to these wheel, it makes me wanna try go find a set of the Gen1 alloy wheels...even though they are not basketweaves, it's still nice.
Haha yeah it was around the driver's area. What do the Gen 1 alloys look like?
*gets all excited*
W00t, anyhow the Gen1 alloy looks like...

And until recently, I saw a Gen1 Camry on ebay having this design. I remember seeing this someplace else but I'm not sure if this was just some body buying an aftermarket alloy or this came as an alternative option from the other alloy. The alloy that i'm in question is the passenger front. I don't think that is a plastic hubcap either though...
Nice score on the basketweaves, though. The ones in my yard are nowhere near that good. Salt tends to corrode the finish pretty badly. Sandblasters come in handy for that...
