2nd Generation couple of questions

Hey I am new to the forum. I recently got a 88 camry DX 5 speed FREE!!!! thus far it had been a great car 30+ mpg highway. now for the questions.

Power antenna? I assume they came with one, mine isn't working, where can I get a new motor or should I just live with it out.

Removing door glass? I want to tint the windows in the spring, I could do it with the glass in the doors but its much easier out.

Performance parts? where to get

I did do a quick search but didn't come up with any good results.

and my final question for some reason when I first start my car in the morning it revs up to about 2K rpm once its warmed up its just below 1K. Should I be concerned?

look in the general camry section for the repair manual for taking out the window... power antenna would be just a universal kit.. if it's picking up signal then just leave it alone...

there's no real engine mods you can do.. nothing to make it great... but you can get suspenion parts... swaybars,shocks,springs..

as the for the warmup i guess it's normal for your area... mine goes to 1.7k then drops to 800 when warmed up.. but i'm in California

power antenna huh, just take the door panels off and put the tint on, the 3sge ex manifold is a cheap 20hp but it doesnt have a cat converter, dont mess with the intake there is no gains there, other than that its pretty much make your own parts, and the idle is normal

alright so far this forum has been very helpful, where can I get suspension parts, and one of the exhaust manifolds. I was going to do a lot of ebaying for this car, but wanted to see what else was out there first

you can get suspension upgrades from SFX performance. The intrax lowering springs for our camry's are sold by them, I have had dealings w/ this company, and they have always been fair enough. They also have Pacesetter headers that work on the 3sfe engine. they are not a direct fit though, as they were designed to fit in the 3sfe celica engine bay. I got those from SFX performance as well. KYB gr2 struts you can find just about anywhere as well, those would be the best for the suspension. Instead of the pacesetter headers though, you can of course look into the 3sge exhaust manifold as fredk always mentions when this topic is brought up.

i agree, i dont think a manifold will be a bold on 20hp gain, it will bolt on but give you no where near +20hp.

that manifold setup is most of the hp advantage of the jdm and outside the us engines, just be sure to get the downpipe, I put one on a car that came into the shop and afterwards even with an auto trans it was much faster and more hi rpm power than mine, it could actually pass a car

What size diameter is are exhaust? My reason for asking is because right now I have a tip welded on and the only way to get an accurate measurement would be to cut the tip off, and I can't do that right now
