2nd Generation Can I drive without the IAC ?!?!?

this thing is really pissing me off and just want to know if it's really needed or not, cause I have the high idle after warmup and while driving around 2K and when I unplug it it idles fine and starts fine without it plugged in too.

well, you're not going to damage the car. once you get above idle the IAC has no effect on the engine management system anyway. your biggest danger will be stalling in critical situations...like venturing across traffic from a dead stop on left turns.

I already cleaded the iac once, but should I take it off again clean the area with 3 screws, I unscrewed my old one and it looked like a metal band that rotated around and revealed more area to clean?! idn

the IAC doesn't dump in gas... you have a cold start injector also that dumps in more gas when you'r warming up the car then it shuts off once warmed up.. that could be mafunctioning causing your high idle... could be leaking or whatever
