2nd Generation Giving my 91 a SEAFOAM treatment

I understand about adding seafoam to the crankcase and the fuel. How do I run the seafoam through one of my vaccum lines? Can someone give me a quick rundown and picture to help aid myself? Thanks guys.

I seafoamed my gen3 a couple weeks ago. On the top right of the engine bay, you should see the brake booster:

You disconnect the vacuum line thats circled, from the brake booster, and then very slowly have it suck up about 1/3 of a can.

What he said EXCEPT i totally disagree with the part about pouring liquid seafoam down the hose. I dont want any liquid bouncing around inside the combustion chamber and potentially causing piston or valve damage! I just use the aerosol can kind (its the same stuff). And spray it to your hearts content down that little hose til the engine practically stalls. (By the way hold onto the little red spray tube from the can like grim death; or it will get sucked down the hose for sure.) Then shut it off and let it soak for 5 or 10 minutes.

2nd Generation Seafoam

when i try to seafoam with that tube in my car (91 cam w/ v6) right after disconnecting the tube the car dies. same with the passenger side and even some of the smaller tubes. which one should i be using so i can add it while the car is running.

EDIT: when i say "the car dies" i mean it has a really rough idle and within 30 seconds (before seafoam is even in the tube) the car dies. in addition the smallest hoses are too small to use becasue when i add just a little bit of seafoam, the car ALMOST dies.

Bringin' it back from the dead, eh?

You will need to give the motor a bit of throttle to raise the RPMs a bit before you pull any vacuum lines or add any fluid. You can either use a helper or wedge something between the throttle and the throttle stop to keep the motor going.

2nd Generation

Well ive always used seafoam in the gas and the oil right before i change it but never in the vac lines. thanks for the info. my first idea was that, to have it at around 2K then add it but the can of seafoam instructs to have the car warm and at idle. ill just have a buddy on the gas for me then.

thanks again!
