2nd Generation This may be a dumb question, but...

How do you "pop" out the air registers on the 1990 camry? I already broke one. Also, how do you get the faceplate that surrounds the radio? Is there a screw inside the dash?
Thanks
Nick

I don't know about the air vents, but...

You can remove the faceplate around the radio pretty easily. There are two screws at the top that must be removed, then from there you just pull straight out. The clips are in there pretty well, so it will take a good strong tug. Good luck (they do break if you do it wrong).

The faceplate comes out; it takes a little finesse to pry it. The link below provides access to service manuals.

I removed one of my air vents so I could mount the Sirius receiver. I used a small screwdriver and pushed in at the pivot point on one side, pulled out slightly, then repeated on the other side of the vent.

The radio surround is a bit tricky. I've had mine on & off about a dozen times now, and those clips are still pretty strong. One set of clips is behind the cross-bar between the heater controls and the radio. The other set is at the bottom of the bezel.
