leaky banjo fitting, suggestions?

I recently posted a thread concerning my fuel line, and I proceded to repair it with some break line and fuel injection hose (i must say i did a pretty good job ) but the last step in this operation is giving me fits. The banjo fitting on the top of the fuel filter just will not stop leaking! I simply cannot tighten it to the point that it will stop leaking. I went at it with a flare wrench and a huuuuuuuge socket wrench, but it still sweats gasoline at the top. What kind of heavy artillery am I going to have to hunt down?

Most banjo fittings I've worked with have crush washers that act as a seal. If they are compressed too tightly they cease functioning as designed. They're a few cents each to replace.

Yup, needs *new* crush washers and possibly a new bolt.

That's a complicated arrangement shown in the pictures, if it continues to leak i'd just plum in some steel line if needed and fuel hose, and switch to another kind of filter that just uses the rubber hose on the male fitting ends. IF the new filter you choose can handle the fuel pressure, and it probably can, it will work.
