2G Rear Discs?

So i have been wondering, what was the deal with the rear discs on 2G camrys? Was it part of a trim level package, a special separate option? V6 only?

And what is with the 15" steel wheels on some models? was there a big brake option or something?

Ok... you mentioned braided lines in your writeup - where'd you have them made? Or are they from a Celica GTS or something?

well technafit (http://www.techna-fit.com/) in torrance makes them.. for the fronts they have it... for the rears i brought them the OEM rubber lines and they made them while i waited (15-20mins or so)... or you can goto this place

http://www.hose-man.com/sys-tmpl/irwindale1/ in irwindale since you live by there charlie

http://www.hose-man.com//sys-tmpl/brakelinehose/ they also make them custom just bring in your rubber line but it takes them a few days though and they couldn't give me a price quote either :\ which is why i went the technafit way

oh well one thing i forgot about my writeup was... if you chose to use the v6's hub then you only have to remove the 3 19mm bolts/nuts that holds it on and the brake lines... would probbly cut the time in half i bet

Looks like technafit now has an application for the gen2 V6. Sweet. (listed as PN TOY-1022). Looks like I have a new part I need to get!

Swapping the whole rear V6 hub definitely makes the process easier, but you will need to do an alignment if you do it that way.

Not all v6 and i4 are the same, v6 with abs have the 277mm disc, same as es250, the caliper is the same , different caliper anchor for 277mm disc, i have these on my i4.

just need to do the rear to disc.
